Organizer
Welcome to your New Online Tax Organizer
We’re very pleased to offer this new service, which earned high marks from clients who tested it last year.
To get started click on the link below and you’ll be re-directed to our tax software site where you’ll be able to review your prior year and enter your current year information.
To login first enter your client ID from the email you received. Your social security number is your password (entered without dashes).
When you’re done there’s a "Complete" button which will notify us that it’s finished and we’ll be able to download your data.
If you’d prefer a paper or PDF version just let your Account Representative know. As always contact them directly if you have any questions. Although the software has a "Contact Us" link, it can only go to a generic mailbox. You’ll get faster service if you reach out directly to your Rep.
Your email may include a pre-scheduled appointment. If so, please make a note of it. You can change it by calling your Account Representative or their assistants. We do not pre-schedule all clients, so if one is not scheduled for you, call or email to schedule one if necessary. Your Account Representative will call you if they have any questions once you mark the organizer complete.
Save time! By following these guidelines for completing the organizer.
- Don’t enter information from tax forms like W-2s or 1099s in to the organizer – we’d prefer to enter these ourselves. You may have been doing this for years but it’s not necessary. Every good accountant takes the numbers off the original documents to avoid transcription errors. We also make copies for our records and return the originals to you.
- If you have important tax information and there doesn’t appear to be a place for it, just enter it in the "Notes" section or bring the information to your interview. Remember, we work for you, so don’t beat yourself up completing the organizer. It’s designed to be an aid to make your work easier too, not just ours.
- You don’t have to complete every page. Most of the pages are there as memory jogs to make sure you don’t miss anything. Just ignore anything you know is irrelevant and make a note in the note section to ask about anything else.
- It’s possible you don’t have to complete the organizer at all – but you may still want to read through it to make sure you haven’t missed anything. Tax organizers are designed to assist you if you have a complicated tax situation, so use your judgment.
- If you’re a new client, there are a few additional items to be aware of. For one, we need to make copies of your prior year tax returns for our records, so be prepared to provide them. Also, your organizer will be blank (no prior year numbers), and is even more likely to contain pages that don’t apply to you. That’s OK; just complete those that do apply.
- Use this checklist to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything:
- Organizer
- Current Year Tax Documents
- Prior Year Return if applicable
- VERY IMPORTANT: If you’re using traditional U.S. mail for sending your other materials to us, retain a copy of all important documents just in case they’re lost.
NOTE: you will be directed away from the Levin & Hu website to our Organizer provider’s website
