As a firm, we are moving away from the CPA’s once traditional role of bookkeeper and instead to one of outsourced controller or CFO.  As we’ve made this transition, we are finding our clients are much more satisfied with the services we provide than under the old model.

Even small businesses need some high level expertise, but it’s not cost effective for them to hire a full time executive with the skills necessary.  Instead, we encourage and even assist in the recruitment and training of qualified bookkeeping personnel for our clients (even if that’s the owner) then supervise their work product either annually, quarterly, or monthly depending on the size and financial reporting needs of that business.

Consulting and Business Planning
One of the little known advantages that an experienced CPA has is first hand experience with a thousand business models.  Each year we get an intimate first hand look at how various businesses performed.  While we can never share privileged information, we are often our client’s most trusted business advisors, offering insights into the effect of legislation, the economy, and their own plans on their business.
